This weekend, the African World Festival celebrates the arts and culture of the African diaspora in Hart Plaza, and the 33rd annual Concert of Colors brings diversity-themed performances to various locations across Detroit.  

There are a few places to find art too, like the Wyandotte Street Art Fair and Art in the Park in Plymouth. Plus, don’t miss the Blissfield River Raisin Festival. Upcoming Events: 

  • The Wyandotte Street Art Fair returns through July 13. The event showcases over 300 national artists, food from local restaurants, and shopping with local merchants. 
  • The Uncle Sam Jam takes place July 11-14 at Woodhaven Civic Center Park in Woodhaven, featuring a carnival, free concerts, monster truck rides, a drone show and fireworks display.  
  • The Blissfield River Raisin Festival runs July 11-13, featuring rides, concessions, exhibits, merchant vendors, crafts, games, fireworks on Friday and a parade on Saturday. 
  • The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History hosts the 41st annual African World Festival July 12-14 in Detroit’s Hart Plaza. The event celebrates the arts and culture of the African diaspora.  
  • Downtown Plymouth’s Art in the Park takes place July 12-14, featuring over 400 artists, live entertainment, food and access to shopping at local stores. 
  • The Detroit Symphony Orchestra presents the Chandler Park Community Arts and Music Festival on Saturday, July 13. The event includes hands-on music and arts activities, free food and live performances from DSO musicians and local artists. 
  • Eastern Market’s summer market series “Shed 5 Flea” takes place Sunday, July 14 at Eastern Market Shed 5 in Detroit. The event features vintage fashion, antiques, handmade wares and more.  
  • The 33rd annual Concert of Colors returns to various locations across Detroit July 16-21. The free diversity-themed music festival brings international and local artists together in Detroit.
